Bath Renovation Realities
Home renovation is always very exciting in the early stages...we make Pinterest boards of our dream bathroom, spend much our free time online looking at tile, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and cabinets. Often we buy stacks of Home Design magazines, watch home renovation tv shows for hours on end, and survey friends, family and co-workers who have recently renovated about their experiences. There is an excitement about the whole process, and in the end, there will be a beautiful new bathroom.....and if it goes anything like the tv shows, it will be done under budget, in a matter of days, right?! ;) Let's get started on the demolition! I'm going to bring you through a survival guide to get through any bath renovation with some of the realities you may endure, and how to handle it. Continue reading

Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin states on their website, “Our goal is to house homeless veterans while supplying them with all the tools needed to break the cycle of homelessness and help them to once again become productive members of society. Once that has been done we will be working closely with our veterans to bring all the tools necessary for success to them. Spa Bathroom: 10 Best Tips
The term “minimalism” seems to be the theme for most of today’s bathrooms. We’re also hearing that many of the clients are requesting a space that is comfortable and cozy to literally wash your cares away. The bathroom should be a place of tranquility and peace and in most cases, designers today are keeping that in mind. Here are 10 tips you can use for creating a more spa bathroom you can start today.
Use Natural Elements
A spa is a place generally thought of as a mineral spring that is designed to promote health. Naturally, adding a natural element to your design creates a place of calm serenity. Think in terms of adding stones or art made of driftwood, plants and fireplaces will enhance just about any area, making it more ‘Zen-like’ spa bathroom. Even tile selection can contribute to thus, by using a wood porcelain floor, or mosaics in materials like mother of pearl, natural stone, and wood. Continue reading

Faucets: The Right One for Your Bathroom
New faucets can give a bathroom a fresh look, but with the wide variety of choices available, it can be difficult to know which to choose. However, a few basic guidelines can help the decision of choosing the right faucet. The first consideration must be the opening configuration in the sink for the faucet. There are four common types that include:
Low Down on Bathroom Faucets
A widespread-set has three separate holes that are at least eight inches apart, and are made to accommodate larger two-handled styles.
Standard Center-set contains three separate holes within four inches made for two-handled faucets, which are plate-mounted.
Single-hole sinks are for single-handed faucets typically with one lever, hands-free, or small two-handed faucets extended from one fixture, often used for smaller bathrooms.
Wall-mounted are often used with vessel or freestanding sinks, and often have longer spouts to extend into the bowl.

Bathroom Plants: 5 Perfect Plants
Adding plants to your bathroom may not only increase its beauty but can contribute to your good health. Bathroom plants help with air purification by absorbing pollutants through their leaves and then metabolizing them into harmless byproducts.
Additionally, research has demonstrated that surrounding ourselves with living, growing interiors decreases stress while providing a more stimulating and interesting environment.
Although you may not believe that you have a green thumb, choosing the right plant for this location can make all the difference for success. A bathroom's typical conditions of low light, high humidity, and warm temperatures must be taken into consideration.
Frosted or small windows reduce light, and some interior rooms have no windows at all. Even though some bathroom plants require very little light, all plants require some light.

Black & White Bath: An Instant Classic
Written by: Alena Capra
The black & white bath is timeless…although it’s heavily trending right now, I feel like it’s a classic look. In fact, the bath I grew up with in my childhood home, was an all-black & white bath (the other was all powder blue, including the fixtures…not quite as timeless! lol), so I’ve always been exposed to this look, and actually really love it! As a designer, over the past year or so, I have been getting this request from clients for their bathroom remodels. There is something so dramatic about the look of the all black and white room. It’s a color palette that really works in all design styles, from classic traditional, and transitional, to modern.

Although they can chip or crack if a heavy object is dropped on them, they're durable and easy to clean. Additionally, they resist mildew, discoloration, and corrosion.
